St. Joseph's House of Grace Beginnings:
 
St. Joseph’s House of Grace began as a dream of a small group of people who wanted to provide, at no cost, a home-like setting for terminally ill patients, (determined by a physician to have less than three months of life).  A home open to anyone having the least options and the most need.  A home of unconditional love, acceptance, and caring.
 
With no regular source of funding, but with the help of so many people and community-based companies, the dream came to fruition five years later.

 Our Wish List, to assist in maintaining St Joseph's:

 • Basic Food items for the patients
 • Gift Cards to local stores that can be used as volunteer appreciation
 • Adult diapers
 • Perennial plants for the garden
 • Postage Stamps
 • Copier paper
 • Fitted sheets with deep pockets
 • Soap, dish detergent and other household cleaners
 • Baby wipes
 
St. Joseph's House of Grace receives no funding from any regular source - no insurance reimbursement, no government program, no endowments. We are totally dependent on the generosity of the community, donations, grants, and our fund raising events.
 
Here is one of the events that we have scheduled, and for which all of the proceeds will go to support St. Joseph's:
 
 • April 5th, 2008 from 1-4pm at St Alphonsus Parish Center, Broad St, Glens Falls.  St Joseph's will be having a Basket Party Fundraiser, (Chinese Auction).  All types of baskets will be put together for auction, - fishing, gardening, movies, chocolate, candles and too many more to mention!  There will be door prizes, pizza and more.  Admittance is $5.00/person, $2.00/ages5-10, under 5 free.   Please come and have an enjoyable time supporting St Joseph's House of Grace.  For more information or if you'd like to donate items contact Pat Gokey or Deb Coalts at 792-1574.
